Return Date for Darden

American performer Darden Smith will appear on 7 November in Kenmore as part of a tour to promote his latest album.
Once dubbed “a Texas Van Morrison”, the Austin-based troubadour has recently finished a US-wide tour to promote the release of the CD - his twelfth album, entitled “Ojo”.
The popular singer-songwriter has enjoyed a love affair with UK audiences spanning his twenty-year career and each time he makes it to Scotland, his fans always turn out en-masse to welcome him back.
He recently recorded a BBC Radio 2 documentary on Texas song-writers called “Songs From The Big Sky”.

Jake Schamrel, the music-loving boss of The Courtyard, says he is delighted that Darden was able to fit a Perthshire date into his schedule.“He is one of the most popular performers from the USA to tour here,” he said.
“Some of our regulars saw him at The Bein Inn in Glenfarg, last time he was in the UK and they asked us to try and get him to come to play for us, so we did.
“At one stage, he tended to be featured on Americana radio shows but recently, presenters such as Terry Wogan have been playing him more and more - proof that his audience base is broadening out, as it most certainly should.
“It is very rewarding when you get a chance to showcase a talent of this calibre, and we are determined to keep the standard just as high when the new season of Supper & Song nights continues in the New Year.”
Wednesday, 7 November at The Courtyard, Kenmore.

Tickets (£12 including supper) from 01887 830763. Doors open: 7.30pm.
