A Medley of Talents

Prizes were presented at Aberfeldy Gallery on Friday 22 June, to the Breadalbane Advanced Higher pupils by Pitlochry native Jim Scott, himself a former pupil of the Academy.

He is currently an arts adviser and a higher examination marker in art, and he was fulsome in his praise of the standard and range of excellence of the works that were on display.

He had left the Academy almost 40 years to the day, in 1967, to pursue a career in art and art education - latterly in Aberdeen. He recalled, to the packed gallery crowd, that it was whilst studying in Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art that he first met the ‘fiesty, Westcoaster student of great talent’ who is now Mrs Marjorie Fearn.
The exhibition of fabrics and fashion, plus representational and impressionist artworks is displayed at the gallery through to 27 June
