Aberfeldy's One Act Plays Fest Inputs 2007

This year Aberfeldy is putting on two plays at the Birnam One Act Play Festival. Pat Zich is directing the adult entry – Interview by Jean-Claude Van Itallie. The cast consists of Donald McCallum, Bill Maslen, Stephen Fitzgerald, Jamie Grant, Sandra Batty, Kathie Pearson, Trish Waite and Ann Ruddy.

The Youth group is performing an original play written specially for them by budding young playwright, Fergus Crystal of Tombuie, Aberfeldy. The idea to write a play for the six young actors Roddy Macaskill, Emma Carmichael, Corrie Dougall, Kevin McNiven, Shona Reed and Neil Ford, came about when first-time director Polly Pullar found it impossible to find a play to suit her enthusiastic team.
“Within weeks Fergus had come up with a comedy sketch on modern life written in Scots - a simple storyline based on the lives of an unmarried single mother, her three children, their grandfather and a Big Issue seller,” explained Polly.
The One Act Play Festival runs at the Birnam Institute on 1/2/3 March each night at 7.30pm. Tickets will be available locally - advanced purchase is advised.

Interview is performed on Thursday 1 March at 7.30 and The Secret Secret Millionaire will have its premiere at Birnam on Friday 2 March. It is also being entered into the Scots Salver Original Playwriting Competition.
